To Whom It May Concern:
It has been my pleasure to be Megan Carroll’s teacher at Western High School during her freshmen and senior years. I have been honored to see this young woman grow and mature throughout her four years. She has been a blessing in my classroom. Her life experiences, perseverance, and passion will take her far beyond where she once imagined. I am pleased to highlight the phenomenal qualities of this spunky young woman. During my student teaching, I had the opportunity to build a relationship with Megan from her first days in high school. Her tough exterior and bold personality made her intriguing and I was anxious to watch her grow in my classroom. I am thankful our relationship has continued to grow throughout her time at Western. Despite her Algebra 1 struggles, she tried her best. She was always asking “why?” and wanted to make deeper connections. I believe anything Megan does in the future with carry the same values. In September, I was thrilled to see Megan would be one of my Health students. As a senior, in a mostly freshmen class, she was a strong example to her classmates. Her heart is made of gold. Several times she spoke up in other’s defense and helped create a very safe, non-judgmental classroom atmosphere. I was thankful I had someone like her in my class. In December, Megan joined me and three other Western High School students at the Jackson County Drug Summit. The connection she made with a few of the presenters was incredible. Her artistic side came out as she drew pictures to illustrate the messages she received from each speaker. She wrote notes on the back of each drawing and gave the notes to the presenters as we left. Megan is far from being a surface level thinker. Her depth of thought is far beyond her age. Without a doubt, Megan Carroll exemplifies qualities of a premiere young woman. Her life journey has influenced many of her academic experiences; she has conquered many challenges and has overcome adversities placed in her path. Her maturity mirrors women twice her age. Receiving financial support will allow her to continue her education without a large burden of debt. I urge you to consider her in your selection.
All the Best,
